Friday Jan 26- Sun Jan 28 - Winter weekend in the Catskills. Plans to stay at the farmhouse and day hike various Catskill peaks. Cost of cabin to be split among participants. Sat. 3 Feb. -Day Hike/Snowshoe Chatfield Trail in Killingworth. Meet at the Route 80 trailhead at 9 am. Hike out to the Deer Lake Camp for lunch than hike back, about 7 miles. Rejoin trail from shelter to hike over High Ledges, Bullet Ledges with plans to end at Johnson Road end of trail. Hope to recruit a car for staging at this end. Mileage about 7.5. Level: Easy. April, 2018: High Adventure Trip: GMC hike at the Grand Canyon

Day 1:  All meet in Phoenix, drive 233 miles to the S Rim, camp at the Mather campground.
Day 2:  Rim hikers, day hikes to scenic overlooks; canyon hikers, down to Bright Angel campsite.
Day 3:  Rim hikers, day hikes; canyon hikers, hike out to Ribbon Falls, back to Bright Angel.
Day 4:  Rim hikers, day hikes/car excursions(?); canyon hikers, hike out, back to Mather.
Day 5:  All return to Phoenix for the trip home.  Possible overnight flight back on Day 4?

April Temps (avg low/high): S Rim: 32/60 o F, inner canyon: 56/82 o F Permit application (a lottery) for inner canyon need in Nov. Reservations at S rim whenever. Will look to do a Fall trip if applications aren’t obtained. Dates are not decided on, though after Easter. Please indicate conflicts for weekends in mid April.
