Sat. Oct 26 Annual Heublein Tower Halloween Hike, West Hartford/Bloomfield. Wear orange if you have it. Fall-themed snacks are always a hit. Meet at parking lot to the northeast of Reservoir Number 6 off Route 44 in W Hartford near water pumping station at 9:30 am. Hike 5-6 miles. Easy/moderate terrain. Dogs on leashes welcome. Specific projects will vary, but may include clipping brush, clearing waterbars, cutting up blowdowns, and light carpentry. Hike/ski/snowshoe on Bolton Valley Nordic trails. Cabin cost $142 total, divided evenly between the number of participants. Must also purchase a BV Nordic & Backcountry pass, typically about $25.
