Wed. April 5 - Come for a scavanger hike at Hell Hollow in Pachaug SF. Learn about why Hell Hollow is considered a haunted abandoned town while looking for clues from stories of the past, specifically looking for the Great Rock and Mauds Grave while learning of the history of the area. Meet at Hell Hollow Pond at 10am. Mileage 4-5 miles. Level: Easy. Leader: Mandy Brink: trekeragb@sbcglobal.net or trekeragb56@gmail.com.

Tues. 11 Apr. Wildlife Biologist Peter Picone will be doing a program for the children of CT. GMC members at 2:30. We will meet in the main parking lot at 2:15. After the program we will do a short walk to visit Beaver Pond, Fire Tower and Waterfall if time allows. Contact Carol A. Langley 860-877-4449 if you plan to attend or have any questions.

Sun. 16 Apr.- Apr. 29 Approx. time frame. Hike AT US. 19&74 North Carolina- to Fontana Dam 30 miles. Take a break then hike the Southern section of the Smokey Mountains Newfound Gap US 441 to Fontana Dam which is 41 miles. Plan on a two day drive down and back. Contact leader for details: Carol A. Wed. April 19 - Day Hike in Tillinghast Pond Management Area. Plans to do the Flintlock Loop and the Pond Loop for a total of about 5 miles. Fri. May 5 - Thurs. May 11 Backpack the AT in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Southern 36 mile section from Rockfish Gap to Simmons Gap. Base at Loft Mountain Campground.
