Sun: Jan 1 - Annual New year's Day Hike Meet 9:30 Greenway Parking Lot off Rte.1 just after/before the entrance to Hammonasset Beach S.P. We will walk on the Greenway for a distance then cut into the park and walk out to Meigs Point for lunch. Bad weather hike/walk will be rescheduled for Jan. 8, 2017 (Sun.) L. Carol A. Sat: Jan 21 - Day Hike/Snowshoe Chatfield Trail in Killingworth. Meet at the Route 80 trailhead at 10 am. Hike 4.3 miles with options to stage a car on River Rd or do an up and back for 8.6 miles. Friday Jan 27 to Sun: Jan 29 - Winter weekend in the Catskills. Plans to stay at a house in the local area with plans to offer different level of day hikes that will range from easy to hard. Hopefully we will have snow for some snowshoeing. The rent for the house will be shared among participants. We will have community breakfasts and dinners. Sun: Feb 12 - Day Hike/Snowshoe. Sunny Valley Preserve Trails, Brookfield. Approx. 7.5 miles. Level: moderate. Leader: Sarah O'Hare seohare7@yahoo.com.

Fri: Feb 24-Sun: Feb 26 - Winter Weekend at the family cabin in the Poconos. Day hike options for Delaware Water Gap or Promised Land State Park. Fully furnished log cabin with heat, hot water and all the comforts of life. Options may also include ice skating, skiing or sledding, whatever you want. Sun: March 19 - Day Hike. Torrington Trails. John Muir Trail to the Wolcott Trail around Burr Pond and return. approx. 6.5 miles. Level: Moderate. Optional bonus mile(s) along the Testone Boulder and Fyler Pond Trails. Leader: Sarah O'Hare seohare7@yahoo.com.
