Friday June 30 - Sunday, July 2: Backpacking weekend from Route 2 in Gorham to Maine State Line with options to hike to Grafton Notch and/or bag Full Goose Peak on the 100 highest list. 22 miles to Maine State Line. Sat. 15 July: Kayaking to the beautiful Enders Island. Meet at the Mystic YMCA parking lot at 9am for a paddle over to Enders Island where we will stop and walk through the lovely flower gardens. Sat. 22 July: Day hike newly opened portion of the Richard Goodwin Trail - the Darrow Pond portion of the trail. Meet at 16 Mostowy Road in East Lyme at 9am to hike this 5 miles stretch of trail from Mostowy Rd to Grassy Hill Rd. Level: Easy. Leader: Mandy Brink: trekeragb@sbcglobal.ne

Sat. 5 Aug.: Trail magic on the Long Trail: The GMC is providing trail magic all up and down the LT this day. We will be doing our part on Kelly Stand Road, providing food and other magic for all hikers who come through. We did this last year, and magicked many AT and LT through hikers. Sun. 13 Aug - Tues Aug 15: Backpacking the Presidential Range in NH on the AT. Plans to start at Crawford Notch and hike into Mizpah Hut on Sunday. Plans to stay at the Mizpah Hut (everyone responsible for their own reservation) or can stay at the nearby Nauman Campsite. Plans to hike to The Perch Shelter on Monday and then over Madison and out on Tuesday. Level: Difficult. Leader: Mandy Brink: trekeragb@sbcglobal.net

Sun. 24 Sept.: Gertrude's Nose in the Shawangunk Mountains, New York: The Gunks are known for climbing, but we will be hiking along the top of the cliffs. Future High Adventure: Grand Canyon National Park. October 2018. We had discussion with many club members on many recent hikes about the potential for this trip and know there is a bunch of interest. If you haven't already contacted Mandy about being on information interest list and would like to be, just drop me an email. Jim had written down many good hike options and I hope to formulate them into a group email once I have some time to study the maps.
