Thurs July 8 - Day hike from Hazard Road to Ten Rod Rd in Arcadia Wildlife area of RI on North to South Trail. 9 am 5.75 miles. Level: Easy. Leader: Mandy Brink at trekeragb@sbcglobal.net, trekeragb56@gmail.com. Cell 860-237-7426.

Wed. July 14 - Evening paddle on Hopeville Pond. Meet at Hopeville Pond main beach at 6pm. I have an extra kayak if someone would like to paddle and needs a kayak. Level: Easy. Leader: Mandy Brink: trekeragb56@gmail.com/trekeragb@sbcglobal.net or cell 860-237-7426

Mon. 19 July Drive to Town & Country Inn Tues. July 20 Hike over Mt. Moriah (4,049) to the Stony Brook Trail to Rte. 16. 10.9 miles. Stay second night at Town & Country Inn. July 21 Drive car to Cog Railroad Parking get shuttle or drive second car to Rte. 302 Crawford Notch hike over Mt. Jackson (4,052) stay at Nauman Tentsite. July 22 Hike over Mt. Clinton (4,412), Mt. Eisenhower (4,425), Mt. Monroe (5,075) and Mt. Washington (6,288) where will take the Cog Railroad down to our car. Stay at Crawford Notch Campground. Drive a car to Gale River parking for next section of hike.This trip will be rescheduled to later in August. Leader has injured left foot so no hiking for a bit!!

Fri. July 23 (The Thunder Full Moon) Hike into Ethan Pond Shelter - Campsite 2.9 miles July 24 Sat. Hike into Guyot Shelter (Mt. Guyot 4,580) 9 miles, July 25 Sun. hike out to Gale River Parking 8 miles. Total trip miles 55.9 Carol A. Langley 860-877-4449 This trip will be rescheduled to later in August.

Sat. 07 Aug. - Morning paddle to Enders Island to see gardens. Meet at Mystic YMCA at 9am. Level: Easy. Leader; Mandy Brink: trekeragb@sbcglobal.net or 860-237-7426. I have an extra kayak if someone would like to paddle and doesn't have a vessel.

Sat. 07 Aug. - Trail Magic - We will be providing trail magic where the Long Trail / Appalachian Trail crosses Kelly Stand Road (a little south of Stratton Mtn.). We'll set up some tables and hand out fruit, snacks, zip-loc bags, and whatever else we think through hikers would like. This usually lasts from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. Fri Aug 13-Sun Aug 15 - Backpacking on AT in Maine over the Bigelow Range. Fri start from Bog Bridge Rd into Little Bigelow Lean-to. Sat hike to Avery Memorial Campsite, Sunday out to Route 27. 17 miles total. Desiring to do this in the sunshine for the views, if the weather for the weekend is rain, we will postpone to the weekend of Aug 22. Level: Difficult. Sat. 28 Aug. - GMC Long Trail Day Fundraiser - The Green Mountain Club is asking for our help to care for the trails! They are the folks out there ensuring our beloved Long Trail System is maintained for our adventures every year. It takes hundreds of volunteers and paid professional trail crews to do this work, so this year they are holding a summer fundraiser to support the work that goes into caring for the Long Trail. Vermont, the Peru Peak and Big Branch Wilderness Areas. 1st day - Long Trail from Mad Tom Notch to Griffith Lake Tenting area, 2nd day - over Baker Peak to the Old Job Trail and to Old Job Shelter. 3rd day - Old Job Trail to Griffith Lake Trail to USFS 58. 18.2 miles, difficult.
